PER - Provincial Nature Reserves

Section 24 of the constitution gives everyone the right “to have the environment protected, for the benefit of present and future generations” and requires the promotion of conservation along with ecologically sound, sustainable development. Provincial Nature Reserves (PNRs) play a key role in achieving this. To do so, however, they must be managed efficiently. This report analyses the trends of expenditure, revenue and performance to guide policymakers in support of this objective.
